Danish polymath: designer, mathematician, inventor, poet, philosopher - Piet Hein, born Dec. 16, 1905 (d. 1996) is now chiefly remembered for his design of every-day objects for use in the kitchen and for decorative purposes - and for his aphoristic poems (‘Grooks’):
