In Garcia’s and the Dead’s declining years the good records were fewer and further between. One of their most panned releases ever was the collaborative live album Dylan & The Dead, but I’ve always had a soft spot for it because I saw one of the concerts on that tour, and listening to Jerry’s guitar on the track above makes me think that even in 1987 he played a more human AND cosmic guitar than most players can hope to do in their prime.
