Tonight is the second full moon of December - thus we have what is known in folk astronomy as a Blue Moon. This event only occurs on New Year’s Eve about once every nineteen years.
What makes it even more interesting, is that we’ll also have a partial eclipse of the moon - check it out in about two hours…
A second full moon, partially eclipsed, on New Year’s Eve - that truly lives up to the phrase: ”Once in a blue moon!”
